Day 171 - April 2, 2013: Daufuskie Island and Haig Point
Savannah was great, and now we were ready to move on to Daufuskie Island, which is across the channel west of Hilton Head Island, and which has only ferry boat access. Our good friends, Larry and Kathy, who used to live in Southern California, moved here 13 years ago and built a home in Haig Point, which is on the northeast corner of Daufuskie Island. Larry was my best man in our wedding, and we have shared many fun experiences together.
Haig Point is a private, member-owned, residential club of about 150 full-time residents, 225 homes, a golf course, and recreation facilities. There are no cars allowed in this area and everyone travels by golf cart. We docked Great Laker on the club guest dock and spent the afternoon visiting their home and touring the area.
Larry and Kathy's home is a classic Southern style with large rooms, high ceilings, beautiful furnishings, and views of Hilton Head over the water to the east.

We had a great dinner at their home and lots of laughs catching up on our recent experiences.
