Day 132 - February 10, 2013: Aborting our Miami departure

Our plan was to move north... the wind said otherwise. We were in a narrow fairway and a narrow slip with high winds off the starboard bow. Despite our improving boating skills, the risk of damaging the dingy on a dock pile, or not being able to make the turn upwind without being swept down the channel into other boats, was too great. My captain's philosophy has become more conservative: "If you aren't sure, don't do it." Tomorrow, we try again.

There is always an upside. Our Spring Lake next door neighbors, Bob and Eileen, were passing through Miami today, and we were able to join them for lunch. Who could have predicted that?

In the evening, we went to see the movie, Lincoln. It is as good as the Academy Award nominations suggest.
