We came into Green Turtle Bay Resort & Marina on Lake Barkley (Grand Rivers, Kentucky) late last night, docking in almost darkness. This marina is well known by loopers everywhere and has consistently been considered a must stop (rated 5 stars). It has swimming pools, tennis courts, a spa, two restaurants, condos, a marina and boat works. What a contrast with the anchorages we have been in over the last two days!
There are 7 other looper boats along our dock, 3 of which we had run into previously along the way. Coincidentally, we ran into Bob and Donnell who are from Grand Haven, MI, traveling in a sailboat named Grand Cru. Loopers share a common bond and gather on the docks and tour each other's boats exchanging stories and experiences. They are consistently great, friendly people.
The weather is rainy and cold so we are staying a day to do laundry, resupply, wash the muddy Mississippi mud off the boat, and eat dinner at Patti's 1880s Settlement. We are in the 4th slip left of "B" on the diagram of Green Turtle Bay Marina.
Tomorrow we go back into Kentucky Lake and head south.
